It describes how Silkroad actually works today, which is why it is published rather than hidden. It is not legal advice and is not the final wording. Silkroad will not take a real payment under an unapproved document — checkout refuses one.
You are the seller
You sell the ticket; Silkroad operates the platform and takes a fee. You are the merchant of record for your events, which means payment settles to your connected account and you carry refunds, chargebacks and losses on your sales.
You are responsible for the event happening as described, for the venue and its capacity, and for answering your buyers.
What you must be truthful about
The event, its date, its venue and its capacity. Silkroad verifies venue admission capacity against official evidence before your event can go on sale, and will not sell beyond the verified ceiling.
Your legal identity as a seller, which is shown to buyers and recorded on every purchase.
Fees and payouts
Silkroad’s fee is taken as an application fee on each sale. Payouts are made by Stripe to your connected account on Stripe’s schedule; Stripe’s dashboard is the authority on your balance and payouts.
